Led nationally by The U.S. Semiquincentennial Commission—created by Congress—and it's America250 Foundation, the commemoration is a multi-year effort, beginning in 2020, culminating on July 4, 2026, and officially concluding in 2027.

America250PADelco is the local, nonpartisan initiative to engage all Delaware County residents in America's 250th anniversary by providing and supporting experiences, now through 2026, that ignite imaginations, elevate diverse stories, inspire service, and highlight the American founding and 250 years of American history through Delco’s unique lens.
OUR VISION
All who live and work in Delaware County will find meaningful participation and appreciation for their civic involvement in America's 250th anniversary now through 2026. Our celebration will sow cultural, educational, civic, and economic benefits well beyond 2026.
GOALS
- Support economic development by promoting heritage tourism, buy local campaigns, and community parades and festivals that celebrate local history and culture.
- Foster civic awareness and historical understanding of Delco residents by sharing narratives of civics and American history, including diverse and underrepresented perspectives.
- Encourage civic participation across the county by highlighting opportunities for volunteerism and robust engagement with local nonprofits and government.
- Inspire a shared sense of pride in our county and America through meaningful celebrations of the U.S. Semiquincentennial, creating lasting memories and strengthening community bonds.
WHAT WE DO
We are working to connect local residents, like you, to local, state and national America 250 programs, events and projects. We work through collaborations with local Community Program Partners who are carrying America 250-themed programing, events and projects through 2026. We facilitate partnerships and connections, provide county-wide marketing, volunteer recruitment, fundraising advisement, and mini grants.
Our History
Delaware County, PA is where William Penn first landed in Pennsylvania in 1682 and is widely celebrated as ‘Where Pennsylvania Began.’ Today, patriotism still runs deep in Delco. Home to some of the country’s most beloved historical sites, welcoming main streets, celebrated museums, gorgeous parks, and gardens. From thrilling soccer games on the Chester waterfront to apple picking in the orchards, world-class cuisine to home-grown hidden gems, Delaware County is a snapshot of American freedoms in action.

Andrea Silva
Director, America250PADelco
Andrea brings a background in nonprofit leadership, diplomacy, fundraising, arts education, and civic engagement to our county-wide celebration. She lives in Wallingford, where you’ll find her gardening and hanging with her Delco-native husband, two children, and rescue dog.
Kate Clifford
Chair, America250PADelco Committee
Kate is a Preservation Planner for Delaware County and serves as liaison to Delaware County Heritage Commission, coordinator for the Delaware County Historic Preservation Network (DCHPN) and Friends of the 1724 Chester Court House. She is President and Volunteer Coordinator for the Haverford Township Historical Society.
Renee Mason
Special Projects Manager
A Delco native, Renee brings nearly 20 years of marketing experience across a range of non-profit, tourism and media roles. She spent a majority of her career in Washington, D.C. at Brand USA, the nation's destination marketing organization, before returning to the Delco area.
Colin McKee
Marketing Intern
Colin brings a background in marketing, business analytics, and community engagement to America250PADelco. A senior Marketing major at Saint Joseph’s University, he will graduate in May 2026. A lifelong Delco resident, Colin lives in Ridley, where his strong community ties inspire his work on this historic celebration.
